CERTICOM JOINS NETSCREEN GLOBAL SECURITY ALLIANCE

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario and SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 27, 2003 – Certicom Corp. (TSX: CIC), a leading provider of wireless security solutions, and NetScreen Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: NSCN), today announced that Certicom has joined the NetScreen Global Security Alliance.

As a member of the NetScreen Global Security Alliance, movianVPN by Certicom, an award-winning virtual private network (VPN) client for wireless handhelds, is tested and certified for interoperability and complete functionality with NetScreen’s integrated firewall and VPN security solutions.

The combined and certified Certicom and NetScreen solution allows corporations to extend existing NetScreen VPN infrastructures to support wireless devices, giving mobile workers the ability to securely access sensitive information without compromising speed and flexibility or network security overall.

“The productivity of a mobile workforce relies heavily upon its ability to securely access applications and communicate from anywhere, anytime,” said Janine Roth, vice president of business development for NetScreen. “Certicom, together with Netscreen, allows companies to extend critical enterprise applications such as e-mail and CRM applications to mobile professionals by enabling handheld devices to connect to corporate VPN gateways for secure wireless access.”
