Sierra Wireless and Certicom to Showcase Secure Wireless VPN for the Enterprise at CTIA Wireless I.T. & Internet 2001 

WirelessReady™ Alliance Member Conference, SAN DIEGO, Calif., September 10, 2001 - Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR; TSE: SW) today announced the addition of Certicom, (NASDAQ: CERT; TSE: CIC), a leading provider of mobile e-business security, to the WirelessReady Alliance. The companies have also reached an agreement to bundle the Sierra Wireless AirCard® 300 wireless network card with Certicom's movianVPN™, that will extend enterprise applications by providing mobile workers with secure wireless network access to enterprise data and e-mail without information being intercepted by unauthorized users. 

Sierra Wireless and Certicom's bundled solution consists of Certicom's movianVPN, the industry's first broadly interoperable IPSec wireless virtual private network (VPN) client for handheld devices, and the always-on Sierra Wireless AirCard 300 wireless network card that can be used on handhelds and laptops. Certicom's movianVPN software works on Palm 3.5 and Windows CE 3.0 handheld devices and can communicate with leading VPN gateways from Alcatel, Check Point Software, Cisco, Intel, Nortel Networks, Radguard and Symantec.
